Mastering vertical movement is a vital skill in the vast world of Hyrule, and certain ancient trials are perfectly designed to test this ability. The Sha Warvo Shrine offers a unique environment where players must utilize strong updrafts to navigate an expansive aerial puzzle room. Successfully reaching the monk at the peak requires patience, precise paraglider control, and an eye for hidden pathways.
Finding the Northern Ascent Location
The Sha Warvo Shrine is located in the cold Tabantha region, situated just north of Rito Village and south of the Flight Range. Eager adventurers can easily spot the structure near Dronoc's Pass as they prepare for major regional story missions. Because the surrounding mountainous perimeter experiences extreme freezing weather, equipping appropriate cold-resistant armor or eating warming meals is necessary before arriving.
There are no complex environmental puzzles or hidden quests required to open the entrance on the surface. Players can simply walk or glide directly to the coordinates, activate the travel gate, and step inside to begin the trial. This makes it an ideal waypoint to unlock early in your journey across the northwest territories.
Riding the Updrafts and Defeating Sentinels
Upon entering the trial, you are greeted by a straightforward path with a floor-mounted fan blowing a strong column of air upward. Step directly into the gust and deploy your paraglider to ride the current up to the first floating platform. From this initial vantage point, look to your left to spot a secondary platform guarded by a lone Guardian Scout.
Defeating this minor automated enemy with a well-placed arrow allows you to safely open a nearby treasure chest containing a purple rupee. After securing this early reward, glide back to the primary wind current to continue your ascent into the upper levels of the structure. The path forward quickly transitions into a more dynamic platforming puzzle.
Navigating the Moving Platforms and Hidden Shaft
The next segment requires careful timing as a small platform shuttles back and forth towards a distant vertical ladder. Wait for the platform to align properly, glide onto its surface, and ride it across the gap to climb the ladder safely. At the top of this platform, another massive airwave awaits to carry you higher into the cavernous chamber.
Riding this fourth updraft reveals a tall, dark central pillar that completely blocks a direct path to the final altar. While airborne and beginning to descend, circle around to the rear side of the column to find a small entry opening. Slipping into this concealed vertical shaft reveals a fifth hidden wind current that propels you out the top.
Securing the Ultimate Rewards
Before concluding the trial, a clever optional reward can be found high above the main path. While airborne after exiting the hidden column current, look toward the side to spot a tiny, isolated platform floating in the distance. Carefully glide down to this small target to claim a high-quality Knight's Bow from the final treasure chest.
Once the loot is safely in your inventory, return to the central hidden wind shaft to regain your maximum altitude. From the apex of the column, you can easily glide down to the final landing area where Monk Sha Warvo waits. Interacting with the ancient figure awards you a valuable Spirit Orb and successfully concludes the vertical challenge.
